SPX Stock Market Outlook review of Mon Jul 27 2026
Stock Market Outlook: Technical Indicators Review
Momentum: Momentum is rising and negative. This is bearish.
MACD Histogram: MACD (Moving Averages Convergence / Divergence) issued a down signal on Fri Jul 17 2026. On Mon Jul 27 2026 the down signal gained strength.
Ultimate Oscillator: The Ultimate Oscillator is rising which is bullish.
Slow Stochastic: The Slow Stochastic has a down signal in place. It is at oversold levels.
Relative Strength Index: The RSI signal is rising which is bullish and points to a probable bounce.
| Rate of Change: The rate of change is rising which is bullish. Settings: Rate Of Change is set for a 21 period. This indicator looks back 21 days and compares price action from the past to the present. With the Rate Of Change, prices are rising when signals are positive. Conversely, prices are falling when signals are negative. As an advance rises, the Rate Of Change signal should also rise higher, otherwise the rally is suspect. A decline should see the Rate Of Change fall into negative signals. The more negative the signals the stronger the decline. |

Stock Market Outlook for Tue Jul 28 2026
For Tuesday the technical indicators are a bit stronger to the bullish side although the S&P chart is more negative than bullish. Signals point to a second bounce attempt today with a higher close to the day. The MACD technical indicator is still holding a down signal and it gained more strength on Monday. This is one of the more accurate technical signals. Until we see the down signal weaken, any move higher remains suspect. Tomorrow we get the latest interest rate decision from the Fed. I will be putting together a trade today ahead of that decison.
