Change In Investing Strategies – Afternoon Strategy Notes for April 10 2014

Yesterday the Fed seemed to juice the market higher with their minutes reflecting on low interest rates. That changed today with the weekly initial unemployment numbers coming in the best since May 2007. A heating up economy means interest rates cannot stay where the Fed predicts – low. Investors are getting back out of risky assets after yesterday going back in.  I am now changing the strategies that will be focused on for the next while as the trend is moving to down. While we can certainly have rallies back and who knows, maybe even make a new high again, the trend is definitely lower for the next few months and probably into the summer.

This means it is time to change the strategies being used so as to profit from the increased volatility as well as the trend lower while focusing more heavily on protecting my capital.
