Whole Foods Stock Down 4% Initially After Disappointing Outlook – Feb 8 2017

Some comments on Whole Foods Market Stock (WFM) earnings after hours. While the earnings were “okay” the revenue numbers didn’t thrill as they came in $60 million shy of estimates.

Earnings came in at 39 cents a share as expected and revenue was $4.92 billion.

It is however their downgrade outlook for the next year that is hammering the stock after hours by 4.5% so far (4:15 PM).

Amazon Impacts Whole Foods Market

They are just another company that is being hurt by Amazon’s inroads. Amazon continues to push into a variety of different companies and their market places. Amazon’s food delivery service, which many customers are raving about, is taking away business from many of the “boutique” type supermarkets like Whole Foods Market.
