For FullyInformed Canada members here is the Market Direction Outlook for the Toronto Stock Exchange for Jul 7 2015.
My outlook for the Toronto Stock Exchange for Monday was for stocks to move lower. They did, but not to the degree I had anticipated and certainly they did not reflect a great deal of concern over the Greek NO Vote. Instead there was buying within a number of sectors although in general stocks continued to slide. Commodity stocks were hit hard as commodity prices fell following the Greek No Vote. Oil fell dramatically reflecting a drop of 7 percent on the day. My favorite energy stock, Suncor fell 1.2 percent but the widely held Encana Corp fell 3.8 percent. It was interesting to note that the London Metal Exchange’s gauge on industrial metals dropped 2 percent which brought it to the lowest level since July 21 2009. Copper fell 2.9 percent and nickel fell 2.5 percent. You can see that in general commodities sold off today following the Greek No Vote.
