Monday was another sideways day with stocks unable to find buyers willing to push stocks higher. With oil prices down on Monday on no deal from OPEC yet, (surprise there), and a strong US dollar, stocks actually held up well considering all the pressures to the downside.
By the close of trading the losses were small and the markets were virtually unchanged from Friday.

Stock Market Outlook for Tomorrow – Nov 1 2016
Despite the market breadth indicators and almost all the technical indicators, Nov 1 historically has been an up day for stocks and with stocks having faced straight declines for 5 trading days, the market is set up for a bounce attempt.
Whether the attempt manages to gather any investor support is hard to judge but it has been rare when November 1 starts on a down move.
