One stock that has provided plenty of income in my Canadian portfolio has been Royal Bank Of Canada Stock.
I have traded in this stock for decades. I remember selling put and call options using the over the counter method before options were popular. That’s a long time ago!
This year has been particularly profitable both from selling naked puts, naked calls and from a few covered call and stock trades.
Royal Bank of Canada stock trades on both the TSX Composite Index and New York Stock Exchange. I trade it only on the TSX in Canadian dollars as I live in Canada and it makes sense to keep the trade in domestic currency.
Royal Bank Of Canada is the largest bank in Canada in both asset size and revenue. Market cap is at $139.6 billion and revenue is at $25.3 billion. There are 80,000 employees. The bank has no debt worth mentioning. The dividend is $3.48 and the payout ratio is 45.22% which is lower than it was at the start of the year and should be sustainable for decades to come.
Book value is an impressive $47.88 and cash flow is up 7.6% from the start of the year at $8.44 per share. Price to earnings is lower than at the start of the year. It is now 13 times.
