Quick Comments – Glitches Fixed But Took The Weekend

Investing Tools Glitches

To bring investors up-to-date, the technical glitches that some members were experiencing with investing tools has now been resolved. A big thank you to a number of members who assisted by working with tech support. The issue was primarily for Apple users and those who are using the iPhone and iPad products to use the investing tools.

With these issues out-of-the-way, we will be moving forward with the next set of tools which will focus on naked calls. As well we will be integrating shortly the probability of assignment to the investing tools. Watch for that later this week.

Email Issues

The other issue a lot of members have been facing is sporadic email delivery.

Our tech support spent hours discussing issues with Microsoft, Google Mail, AOL, Comcast, AT&T, SBC and Yahoo.

The problem we now face is the mailing list has become very large and as I was emailing three and sometimes four times a day the mail servers of many of these providers were blocking emails at random intervals from being sent.

Many members worked with us to contact their providers and complain about not receiving emails.

They have suggested to us a number of solutions which we will be implementing.

These include sending two emails daily. One before the markets open and a second email in the evening after the markets close. We won’t be sending a midday or afternoon email. That will reduce the number of emails being sent.

We also won’t be resending emails. If an email bounces back to us because a mailbox is full or the email address has changed, that email will immediately be removed.

Twitter

I would urge investors and members who want more notification of trades, etc., to sign up to my Twitter account through this link and you can setup twitter to email you whenever there is a new posting. You can also setup text to your cell which is a great way to stay in touch.

Facebook

I will be opening up a Facebook Account shortly which should help those members who wish to stay in touch through Facebook. Facebook can also be setup to send emails and text messages for every post done, so that should help.

Email Is Back Working

Email is back working again and those who have signed up for email should be receiving email again.

Yahoo Groups Delays

We also spoke with Yahoo tech support regarding continual delays with the Yahoo Groups. Emails are lost, some get posted days late and other get only partly posted. They are aware of the issues but we kind of got the feeling that they are not concerned because perhaps it is something that might disappear down the road? They seem fairly certain that Facebook and other methods of social interaction is more mainstream. They were surprised that we were still using Yahoo Groups but gave no commitment on fixing any of the “latency” issues as they referred to them. It’s free, was often pointed out to us. While this is disappointing, perhaps Facebook will assist us in the Groups section. I do not plan on stopping the Yahoo Group at all and I made that abundantly clear.

Weekend Gone

Unfortunately this tool the weekend to repair so there isn’t a lot of posts this weekend or this evening. Don’t worry, I will make up for it starting Monday!

Enjoy the first week of May. Remember, this is the start of the poorest 6 months of the year, so we should be prepared for anything.
