Lowes Stock (LOW) Trade Alert and Trade Ideas – Aug 20 2014

Lowes Stock entered my USA Stock Put Selling Portfolio in 2013. I earned double digits last year and while I prefer Home Depot, Lowes has a decent trading pattern for my style of Put Selling.

Lowes Stock is down about 2.50% after cutting its sales forecast for the year indicating that it will not recover the sales missed during the severe winter. They also lowered their forecast by half a percent to 4.5% and indicating that same store sales would drop also by half a percentage point to 3.5%.

This plunged the stock this morning setting up my trade and a number of other trade opportunities.

This does not compare favorably in relation to the recent sales from Home Depot. Lowes has definitely had trouble growing their revenue and market share.

When this happens to a stock there are almost always plenty of trade opportunities and the perfect pattern that Lowes has over the past year makes both of these trades work well.
