The outlook for the Canadian Stock Market for Wednesday was basically a carbon copy of what the big US markets would do following the Fed’s interest rate decision announcement.
However the morning started with the index pretty well at 14600 and it didn’t fall below it while waiting for the Fed’s anouncement.
TSX Composite Index Rises 188.84 Points.
Following the Fed’s announcement the TSX Composite Index climbed steadily and closed right near the highs of the day at 14,719.82 for a gain of 1.3%. Part of that gain was also caused by a move higher for oil futures as well as gains by gold.
