This article replaces my earlier look at Facebook Stock from early evening yesterday, Jul 25.
When I wrote my first article on Facebook Stock after earnings, the after hours session showed the stock falling 10% which would put the stock down around the $195 to $192.50. However after hours the conference call painted a rather dire picture for forward earnings and shares plunged 24% below $170 before stabilizing around $179.
That’s a drop that wipes out $160 billion in stock valuation. Management explained that revenue is decelerating which is to be expected as they continue to cut advertisers and advertisements. They discussed tightening margins and effects of privacy policy changes which are and will affect the bottom line for the company for at least two more quarters.
On Thursday the stock will open considerably lower. Here are some new trade tips and an outlook for the stock following their conference call.
