With the stock markets making new highs, many investors are sitting on the sidelines, worried about applying more capital or even applying any capital. I think this is a mistake. Instead of jumping into a rally like this one, consider a variety of strategies that can be used to both gain some profits and provide above average protection. These type of strategies are a bit outside the box as it were, but they can produce substantial results and allow a high level of comfort at a time when analysts are calling today’s push into new highs, “lunacy”.
