For the final week of September, the S&P started the week at 2158.54 and ended the week of 2168.27. The week saw a total gain of 0.46% or just shy of half a percent. It was though a tumultuous week as concerns over Deutsche Bank caught the attention of investors and while most did not understand the full extent of the problems facing the bank, most investors and many analysts referred to it as a possible Lehman Brothers moment.

A Week Of Bears

Indeed many bears came out this past week with once more dire predictions of an impending collapse and September 30 was pegged by many “gurus” as the day the market would crash.

Instead Sept 30 saw the market rally and close the week on a high note.
