With stocks heading into the final week of November, it has been a month to remember. The beginning of November saw investors dumping shares ahead of the election. Fear of a Trump victory had analysts predicting dire consequences for stocks and indeed the night of the election the index futures were down “big”. But instead of collapsing investors decided that perhaps Trump’s plans for the economy might just benefit stocks and they began to buy.
With hardly any pullbacks during the “Trump” rally, the S&P has moved from a low of 2083.79 on Nov 4 to a closing high on Friday of 2213.35 for a gain of 129.56 points or 6.2%. Friday saw the S&P close at another all-time high.
The NASDAQ also closed at a new all-time high of 5,398.92 as did the Dow Jones Index which closed at 19,152.14.
