Weekends are great opportunities to review the past week’s trades and look for set ups for the next week. Apple Stock since the split has performed very well. Investor confidence in the company and in the recent 7 to 1 split has investors keen to continue to hold for higher gains. A number of analysts however have revised their target for the stock picking prices anywhere from $93.50 to $96.50 as targets for the year. Earlier when the stock was racing toward $625.00 prior to the split, many analysts had felt that the stock would quickly move over $100.00 after the split.

This of course has not happened and indeed the stock is exhibiting some signs of weakness.

The biggest concern now is momentum within the stock is rapidly vanishing. This could indicate that the inability of the stock to push higher may result in its moving lower. Apple Stock reports its earnings July 21 when estimates have the earnings coming in at $1.22 per share on average on $37.8 billion of revenue. This is a gain of 12% over the same quarter last year. This could be too high an estimate especially considering the growing competition in what is quickly becoming a crowded market.

This article examines Apple Stock before and after the split to determine support levels and credit put spread strikes worth considering for both profit and protection. This article is lengthy at 1800 words but it is important to understand where the stock appears to be heading, to stay profitable and to protect from capital loss.

This article outlines my next credit put spread in Apple Stock which I plan to enter on Monday June 30.

The goal of the Biweekly Put Selling strategy is to grow my initial capital to one million dollars by 2017. To do that, especially after the split, means to plan properly and set realistic profit points. With volatility declining in the stock and the stock split itself, reaching my goal will be more difficult which is why it is important to not take chances or second guess the indicators, but stay trading with safety of capital in use the primary focus.
