Last year trades I did using the Trading For Pennies Strategy earned a return of 142%. The percentage return sounds big and I do not want to diminish how good the return was, but percentages can be misleading. These were all short-term trades using small amounts of capital so the return does look exceptional. Please keep that in mind. I used the Russell 2000 ETF with the trading symbol of IWM last year. Often though I found it difficult to get fills as options on the IWM are not traded as heavily as on other indexes. For 2014 I changed to the SPDR 500 ETF with the trading symbol SPY. Options are much more fluid with higher volumes and tighter trading patterns of one or two cents at times, making getting filled on the buy and sell side simple and direct. As I do both Spy Put Options and Spy Call Options it is imperative that I can get in quickly when the entry signal is given and get my fill immediately and at the same time exit quickly and sell all the contracts almost instantly. I often do as many as 100 contracts which at times was difficult for the IWM ETF to get all filled for the same price. This is not the case with the SPDR 500 ETF which trades thousands of options each day.
