Tuesday July 3 was another disappointing day for the indexes. All 3 indexes opened slightly higher and tried to build some momentum to the upside. However with Wednesday being a holiday and Tuesday just half a day, there was not enough volume or interest from investors to keep the indexes steady. Gains were given back and the closing last hour from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM saw the indexes stumble to close near their lows. The S&P closed at 2713.22 after being as high as 2736 earlier in the morning.
