For FullyInformed Members here is my review of 2019 as I look at what worked well and why and my look at expectations for 2020 and what I am expecting for returns in another year of what has become the longest bull market in history.
Bull Market History
The bull market of the 1990’s lasted 113 months and returned 417%. The current Bull Market started March 9 2009 at 676.53. With the close on Tuesday Dec 31, the S&P has returned 2554.25 points for a gain of 377%. If my predictions for 2020 are correct, the current bull market should bypass the bull market of the 1990’s and become the longest and most profitable bull market in USA history.
2019 Gains
2019 turned out to be a fabulous year with the S&P, ending the year up 28.8%, the best in 6 years and the NASDAQ up an amazing 35.2%.
In the New Year 2019 Outlook posted back on Jan 1 2019, I had discussed the important role the Fed would play. The predictions of the Fed turning dovish and what it would mean panned out with the S&P ending the year above 3000.
Here is what I am expecting for returns and for the markets in 2020…..the rest of this outlook for 2020 is for members
