Before The Open – Investing Strategy Notes and Trade Ideas For May 7 2014

I have not had an opportunity to update all my trades from the past two days but I think the more important item to get covered off is the change in market direction. I think there are enough signs that the market is topping out or certainly stalling out at the present time to warrant a shift to trading more to the downside. I cover off many of the reasons why I think stocks have run their course at present in the market direction outlook for May 7. You can review those comments here. As always I could easily be wrong but at present I feel comfortable trading to the downside rather than upside. That means taking going back toward taking profits in puts that I have sold and reducing capital at risk so as to take advantage of lower prices.
