I receive a lot of emails every day from investors and one of the questions often asked is why I select stocks like AT&T which seem to be going nowhere. The 12 month chart of AT&T Stock below definitely would agree with that assessment. The stock basically has done nothing despite a number of outperform ratings on the company over the past couple of months.

For those investors who seek dividend yield and growth, AT&T is often mentioned, but there really is not any growth to the dividend just a reasonable yield. The past year has seen an increase of 1 cent per quarter or 4 cents for the year in dividend growth. While other investors are not happy with the growth of this stock, I am incredibly pleased with AT&T stock which keeps returning to my portfolio double-digit annual gains, eventhough it appears to be going nowhere.
