Amy, that is aggressive, your second set of nvda at the 110 strike. Alvin

You definitely have a lot of room and it would be an easy roll down as well. Alvin

Have you close out your NVDA trade. It reports tomorrow after the close.

Teddi, any idea why FB went down further in after hours, with close to 900,000 shares traded in 12 minutes. Alvin

I had the 64.50 exp today, will be assigned. Had a chance to buy to close this morning for pennies. I missed the drop at the close, now I will be owning the shares. Not good at all.

Teddi, I did roll out the rest of my FB puts today. I was able to sell 5c FB put for this Friday. It should expire. I didn’t sell my remaining FB, but hoping to do so tomorrow. This should free a lot space for selling puts for next week. Thanks again. Alvin

    Amy,

Well, I was assigned 2000 shares of FB and had a margin call. I was fortunate that FB was up over $4. I did sell 1000 shares at $121.80 to cover margin call. I am not giving up on FB.

Futures is up tonight, might get another up day.

I do get myself in trouble quite a bit by using credit put spread and take margin to it’s limit.

I wasn’t able to sell any more puts of FB at a lower strike, because of not enough margin space and I still have a 1000 share. Owning shares takes a lot of margin v puts. If FB does go up some more and create some room, I will sell additional lower strike FB puts and try to recover that way, as Teddi suggested.

I do see us going higher at least until Wednesday this week. I might recover some and also give me an opportunity to roll my other FB puts. We will see what happens.

As always, thanks for your input.

    Dennis,

Prior to getting stuck with the 129P, FB was running up in the 130s, that was prior to earnings. I was banking that they would beat, didn’t expect the CFO would say that ad sale would slow and couple withy added expenses due to expansion. Then they drop over $10 (that day in AH, not exact numbers and been down since).

My account is a smaller account and I like to keep it short term, to generate revenue. I do a lot of credit put spread and mostly weekly.

Well I didn’t act fast enough and didn’t want to roll too far out. I been rolling the 129P just one week out, which I got assigned this Friday.

I will probably be selling FB tomorrow and sell more FB puts at a lower strike to try and recover, as Teddi suggested.

Of course, now that I am assigned, I am hoping FB will open up in the morning. I guess it does not help that I reading all those posting on StockTwits.

My plan now is sell FB shares, determine my losses, and start selling lower strike put to start the long road to recovery. I hope.

Teddi, I got it, it’s 2 transaction, because after btc, my sto will be for more contracts at a lower price. Thanks. Alvin

Teddi, I get the impression that when you btc and sto, you always do it as 2 transaction, rather than rolling down in one transaction. If you roll down in one transaction, you pay one commission rather than 2 on two transactions. If my impression is correct, can you tell me why? Thanks. Alvin

Teddi, thank you for providing me with my options. I now have a better understanding of rolling down and adding addition options to lessen my losses. Alvin

Amy and Teddi, thanks for the explanation. I own a lot of PCG in my retirement account, as well as limited amount of DUK, they are both down. I now have a better understanding as to why. Thank You. Alvin

I too was assigned 500 shares at $60.50 and 1000 shares at $58. I am thinking of selling it at the current price and take the loss. This would free up a lot of funds to trade. I could then turn around and sell BMY put at the current price. Even if I get assigned BMY again, it would be at a lower price. Or I could use the funds to sell puts on FB, which it have been working real well for me lately. Right now, I am just holding those 1500 shares of BMY. I definitely should do something with those 1500 shares of BMY.
