TSX Market Direction Outlook For May 27 2014

The market direction outlook for Monday for the TSX was for stocks to move higher. Historically the TSX moves up when the US markets are closed for Memorial Day. Today was no different with the TSX up 7.59. The day though was really more just a sideways day as investors held back waiting for the US markets to open on Tuesday rather than risking capital. Meanwhile there are growing hints and rumors that Europe will be moving toward further stimulus which may help to move stocks in the US higher on Tuesday. The Canadian dollar rose to $92.08 US as the base metals stocks moved up again on Monday.

On Tuesday we get more earnings from the Banks and on Monday financial rose slightly with BNS Stock up to $68.00, another new all-time high for Bank of Nova Scotia Stock.

Meanwhile Canadian Tire Stock moved up $1.76 to $105.20 on news it has signed a multi-tear deal with TSN. TSN will produce content for Canadian Tire Corp’s advertising including everything from instore ads to online ads to all kinds of media.
