With the recent push higher in market direction but the still unresolved debt ceiling many stocks are actually under pressure. In this kind of environment I prefer to be Put Selling those stocks that are demonstrating strength. That way should the market direction turn back down or if the debt ceiling is not resolved and the market really pulls back hard, I have a better chance to get out with either small gains or very small losses or even roll lower or add capital and do more put selling trades. These stocks are the type I prefer to be Put Selling against should the things get nasty. These types of stocks have not hurt my portfolio as they are easy to defend and apply rescue strategies against in even some of the worst market conditions.
