Earnings announcements can be volatile times for trading options as well as the stock itself. Recently I commented on selling put options, either naked or as a credit put spread on Gilead Sciences Stock (GILD). I enjoy trading in options and sometimes stock in the weeks and days leading to earnings. Many investors do not. Like all investments I enter into, I never work blindly. I use a specific strategy and chart patterns that have served me well for decades. Some trade strategies once learned can be applied indefinitely to all stocks. The trade strategy I use for trading around earnings announcement is one of those strategies.
