One word describes the TSX over the past couple of weeks – implosion. Stocks have literally fallen apart. The outlook for the Toronto Stock Exchange for Friday Dec 12 2014 was for stocks to try to recover the 14000 level but still close lower. With crude oil continuing to tumble, the Canadian dollar falling, the outlook for our GDP declining and even housing prices pulling back in November, stocks continued to decline on Friday falling still deeper
Toronto Stock Exchange Daily Chart From Jan 2 to Dec 12 2014
The daily chart of the TSX shows that Toronto is about to end the year with a loss. The first loss since 2011. With investors reeling under the collapse of energy and metals, investors are now selling almost anything that has a profit for the year as they race to raise cash levels. Most are expecting 2015 to be a poor year for stocks in Toronto.
Here is my outlook heading into Monday December 15 2014 for the TSX. This TSX market direction outlook and trade ideas is for Canada Members.
