Toronto Stock Exchange Drops Just 10.51 Points
Last week the TSX had a decent week and Friday was impressive with the index down just 10.51 points to 12,763.99 while the bigger USA markets took it on the chin as it were. But comparing the week, the TSX opened the week at 12,766.15 and closed at 12,763.99. In effect then, the TSX was really moving sideways rather than up. Much of the strength in the TSX has come from the dropping US dollar which has helped to props up many commodity prices. Oil has held above $30 which has assisted the rise in the TSX greatly.
