On Wednesday Oct 19 2016, the outlook for the Canadian Stock Market was for the market to continue the rally from Tuesday.
TSX Composite Index Rises 88.24 Points
By the close of the day on Wednesday the TSX Composite Index was higher by 88.24 points to close at 14,840.49. It was a strong second day of the rally which saw the TSX move to reach the Upper Bollinger Band. This leaves the TSX at its highest level in 15 months.
The rally was boosted by a rise in oil prices along with a rise in gold prices. The Canadian dollar fell back. Financial stocks continued their gains on Thursday.
