It was quite the day for Apple Stock. Despite the many analysts who questioned the 7 for 1 stock split and feel it is actually a detriment to Apple itself, investors obviously like the idea and voted by buying up shares. The split in Apple Stock 7:1 may mean an end to the bi-weekly Put Selling strategy trade in Apple Stock. I won’t know until the stock starts to trade in June after the split. Part of the beauty of the Apple Stock Bi-weekly Put Selling strategy is that the put premiums are very good and I can stay a fair distance out from where the stock is trading. That has changed somewhat since the stock headed lower over the last 6 months as the volatility began to decline and put premiums were poor going too far out in strikes.

I will have to see what put premiums are like after the split to determine the viability of the bi-weekly strategy in the manner in which it is being applied to Apple Stock.
