Speculative stocks can be hazardous to anyone’s portfolio. Even the most experience investor can get into trouble trading among speculative stocks. While Skechers Stock may not appear too speculative, the chart itself tells a very different story.
Looking at just the past 12 months this stock has had a gain of 215.9% and then from the high, a loss of 42.5% as of Wednesday Oct 28 . Quite the return and quite the drop.
Skechers Stock has earnings of $4.8 billion which is not a small amount. They employ 2,944 people and trade at 22.9 times price to earnings which is actually below the industry average for footwear. Profit margin is 8.17% which is also below the industry average of 10.75%. Earnings are at $1.36 a share and book value is at $8.19. Skechers is a practical company and certainly a lot of investors are in this company. Of the analysts that follow it only 1 or 2 have it rated a hold while the rest have it rated a buy or a strong buy.
