PepsiCo Stock Earnings Rise – Trade Alert For Sep 29 2016

The latest quarterly results from PepsiCo beat analysts estimates and has the stock moving higher today. Analysts had anticipated a drop in earnings to $1.32 per share but instead earnings reached $1.40 a share. Profit for the third-quarter tripled to $1.99 billion from $533 million a year ago.

Meanwhile overall revenue declined by 1.9% to $16.03 billion from $16.33 billion for the seventh straight quarter of declining sales. In North America however, sales rose 3% to $5.52 billion. Overall almost 50% of PepsiCo sales were outside North America. This fact combined with currency swings to produce the decline in revenue numbers the company continues to face.

PepsiCo raised its full-year forecast to $4.78 a share from $4.71 which is again, above analysts estimates which on average were $4.76.

This rise in earnings assisted in my placing a trade today in PepsiCo Stock.
