Over-reaction
On Friday after the close I discussed the expected weakness for Monday and possibly Tuesday following the nonfarm payroll numbers. The selling today had to be expected. Investors always overreact. On Friday they first jumped on the numbers, then sold off and then moved back up.
Reality
Today the reality of an interest rate hike in December has investors selling out and as always, as the selling intensifies it draws in more sellers.
Keeping Cash Working
In my after the close article on Friday I explained that I had a lot of trades expire on Friday and my level of cash was high. That means looking for more opportunities and I explained that I was looking for some selling on Monday or Tuesday to provide opportunities for keeping my cash working. This is what grows my portfolio and how I keep compounding my capital.
Approaching Weakness Differently
This is a strategy article for investors. It is 2400 words in length and will require 9 pages if printed. It looks at 3 trades I did this morning to explain how to approach periods of weakness and how to view stocks perhaps a bit differently than most investors are used to.
All About Perception
The trades outlined in this article are designed to show investors that no matter what happens in markets, it is often the perception an investor has that is hurting their portfolio as there is always a strategy that works and can and will build income and returns for investors.
Understanding Stocks
A key aspect of investing is understanding stocks, why they react to events, rise quickly and plunge deeply. Once an investor stops focusing and worrying about daily movements and begins to peer through the mists of emotional investing, they learn that true value is often right in front of them.
Building True Wealth
By using strategies to take advantage of other investor’s lack of knowledge and understanding, an investor can build a portfolio that can withstand market gyrations and work toward building true wealth.
