One of the stocks that was added to the Million Dollar Challenge in January 2017 was Facebook. The Challenge started with $100,000 with the goal to turn it into one million dollars by Jan 13 2022. All trades are credit spreads. Trades may change between selling put and selling call options, depending on the stock market directions and the stock itself. As well the Put Options Selling Tool is being used to assist in deciding on strikes to sell against and the timing of when to sell. There is a summary chart with the trade summary which shows the capital made, the return made against the capital in use as well as the capital that is being committed and the goal itself. Commissions are 75 cents a contracts and each trade has a link to a further article which outlines each trade in more detail. This is the first year of what is a 5 year challenge. A high amount of margin will be used throughout the 5 years of this trade. There is no guarantee the trades will be successful or the ultimate goal will be realized.
To March 15 2017 the Facebook Stock Million Dollar Challenge Portfolio is up over 8% and a large amount of capital is still available for additional trades.
There are three trades still active and a number of trades are of interest for members including the large number of trades closed Feb 22.
When this portfolio was started Jan 13 2017, Facebook Stock opened at $128.04. On March 15 it closed at $139.72 for a gain of roughly 8%. This is the same return the portfolio has provided with far less volatility than stock ownership.
