I entered into trading Bank of Montreal Stock in May of 2014 in my online Canadian Portfolio. Bank Of Montreal Stock trades under the symbol BMO both on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York. I trade BMO Stock only on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canadian Dollars.

The latest update in BMO Stock trades shows that this stock is the second largest holding in my portfolio. Between Bank of Nova Scotia, Alimentation Couche-Tard Stock and Bank of Montreal Stock they comprise three-quarters of my entire portfolio and are dipping into margin at various times. However thanks to the Bank of Montreal Stock trades my Canadian Portfolio is now up 18% which is decent considering most of the trades did not start until early May 2014.

Bank Of Montreal Stock Correction

The last correction which occurred in mid-October in BMO Stock I felt was overdone but I made the mistake of jumping in on October 15 when the stock punched through longer term support which had been at the $80 valuation. Unfortunately the next day the stock fell further, to a low of $76.41 and would actually have been a more ideal spot for both stock buying and naked puts.

Bank of Montreal Stock 10% Correction

My enthusiasm for jumping in too quickly was founded on the drop being 10% by Oct 15. The following day the stock fell almost another 1% concluding a 10.8% correction in the stock. I have followed BMO Stock for decades even though it was just added to my online portfolio this year. I find the returns are superior and the trading reasonably easy to implement. A lot of my strategies including the hide and seek covered calls strategy works incredibly well.

Bank Of Montreal Stock (BMO) Trades For 2014 Update

The trades for 2014 are worth checking out. There are two active trades from July which I am continuing to roll and have used the Hide and Seek Covered Calls Strategy a number of times in. One of the trades is up over 10% just on its own. There are two other active trades of interest; one from Oct 15 and the other more recent, November 11.

There are a variety of trades being done. Put Selling is common but there are a lot of covered calls stretching from in the money to out of the money. I have set up my own weekly style of covered calls even though the stock is available only for monthly options and I have established some very decent returns through selling slightly in the money calls.

All active trades are highlighted in yellow and marked active.  To understand the trade table for active trades running totals are in the final column, highlighted in yellow when the trade extended for a lengthy period or had more than one trade ongoing.

The keys are shown in below.  The smallest figure and/or final figure is commissions paid to date for the Bank of Montreal Stock trades.
