Apple Stock (AAPL) Trades For 2015 Update – Second Loss Taken In Million Dollar Challenge to Aug 4 2015

The million dollar challenge for my Apple Stock trades took another turn lower yesterday with my taking losses on the July 31 trade I entered.

I have updated all trades in Apple Stock and the returns are still up over 19% but the loss from July 31 is a warning that I need to pay closer attention to the stop-losses being used.

In my last update I indicated that I would be using stops regularly as caution was warranted. I should have heeded my own advice a bit more with the July 31 trade. The July 30 trade however did end with a profit thanks to staying with the stop-losses.

As indicated in many of my articles, the problem with taking losses, even small ones is that it slows the growth of the portfolio. This is evident now with the Apple Stock trades as growth of this trade has now stalled.

The goal of reaching one million dollars in total value by the end of 2017 is starting to experience the first setbacks.
