Historically shorten weeks tend to favor upside movement in stocks. With Memorial Day drawing to a close, history shows us that the Dow has been up 20 of the last 28 years on the day after Memorial Day. Unfortunately though, the market has been down for the final week of May 11 of the last 18 years. This year is hard to judge historically as the market is sitting right at all-time highs which has not happened before for the final week of May.
