3 Trade Alerts and Afternoon Investing Strategy Notes For July 10 2014

The drop in the markets this morning has created more opportunities for profits yet again. Here are three trades I did this morning in stocks to add to my annual gains. My portfolio continues to climb with returns now well over 25% for the year for the US Portfolio which is well ahead of the S&P returns.

Today’s drop was primarily caused by European reports that are pointing to a contraction in overall GDP as well as Chinese data that points to a 7% export figure which is far below the usual double-digit numbers investors are used to.

Last is the effects from yesterday’s Fed minutes which show an end to Quantitative Easing in October of this year which yesterday investors seemed to like but today they may have rethought the whole end of Quantitative Easing aspects. There is also a 30 year bond auction to contend with. All in all, enough to point to a drop in stocks to start the day.
